Hello, can anyone recommend couple of family camping resorts preferably in the Mediterranean Sea? We have been touring most of the America’s best east cost camping resorts and this year my partner and I want to visit the Mediterranean for the first time for 50 nights in total but don’t really know where to stay.
We will be working online so ideally free Wi-Fi is a must. Also, air conditioning and a safe are our top priority. I know it might sound too much for some and we have been checking randomly online but recommendations based on direct experiences are more trusted. Thanks in advance.
What is the budget you are looking for? It depends how much you are willing to pay per night. We highly recommend you put your VPN on when booking as prices differ when you book in Europe from Europe or from abroad.
Here are couple of good recommendations based on personal and family experiences. Good luck!
1. Passeig Miramar – Plaça Venus, 43840 Salou Spain, called Camping & resort Sanguli Salou: the best part about it is that it is family friendly, with lots of activities and several swimming pools and including a pool bar. They have several types of camping cabins, chalets, tents, etc..
2. 323 Rte du Littoral N 98, 83310 Grimaud, Holiday Marina Camping Resort: very nice restaurant, clean and plenty of kids’ activities. The animators were very cool and entertaining.
3. Holiday Green Camping, Frejus, France: Also very nice, clean and lots of entertainment. You will definitely like it.
4. Holiday Center Pra’ Delle Torri, Italy: It’s a 4-star hotel with camping facilities but has very good reviews. Family members tried it, and they loved it.
5. Epar.Od. Limani Kamaron-Artemonas, Kamares 840 03, Camping Makis, Greece: is also a highly recommended camping resort at the sea.
Thank you so much for the recommendations! Very nice places indeed. We heard that South of France could be the most expensive. But could be worth it for a once in a lifetime trip. Thank you again.
Most welcome. South of France or the French Riviera is indeed the most expensive, but we also found it the most beautiful. Mallorca and Ibiza however are more affordable but with similar atmosphere to Southern France however we never experienced camping there.
Camping Sikia, Κάτω Γατζέα 373 00, Greece is a camping resort to die for. If you want to live and enjoy Greece at affordable price, I highly recommend this camping resort. Been there twice and would love to visit for a third time again.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. We will check it out.
I highly recommend Domaine De la Bergerie. Here is the site: https://www.domainelabergerie.fr/en/camping-5-etoiles-sud-de-la-france I think you and your family will love it too. It is amazing and right at the Cote d’Azure. You won’t have to look no more. Bonne Chance!
Merci beaucoup for the recommendation. Cote d’Azure is my partner’s favorite. We will check it right away.
Capri and Ibiza are the most beautiful Mediterranean in my views and based on personal experience. But I have never tried camping there, only hotels. I think camping is a very personalized experience as cabins and caravans style and luxury level vary from a person to another. My friend however stayed at Parco Ibiza Spain and swear by the place.
Yeah we hear a lot about Ibiza and most likely will end up there. A cousin visited the island and keeps talking about it though that was 5 years ago. I think it is the place to be. Thank you for the recommendation. Will check it out now.
Parco Camping Resort wifi was not good as we also had to work. Apart from that it is the most beautiful site on the island.
We stayed in Ibiza several times and it is indeed a beautiful place to be in the Mediterranean. I recommend https://campinglaplayaibiza.com/es_es/el-camping/ . It is right at the sea and they have plenty of water activities and even a market. Check the website. The place is magical.
Good luck and enjoy your trip!
Thank you so much for the recommendation. My partner is already checking it and it looks amazing. Yes the ideal holiday in my view is right at the sea.
We stayed At Camping Sandaya Douce Quiétude – 5 Étoiles in Frejus, South of France. It was our first camping experience, and we honestly loved the place. The kids had great fun. We rented a wooden cabin – container like – and it was very cute and modern fro the inside, they had a safe and air-condition as you asked for, but air co is only in the kitchen and ours was off when we arrived (August) so the first night we had to set it on 17 degrees Celsius to cool down the bedrooms, by the morning next day it was freezing cold lol. The wifi however is chargeable, they have optional packages depends on how many days you are staying, and wifi is only for one device, so we set it on my laptop and when we needed wifi on our phones or on the kids devices or Netflix on TV we had to use the same password and code on the new device and disconnect it therefore from my laptop. So you can imagine my productivity at work! Also, hotspot doesn’t really work, so you might need to buy more than one package if you guys are working. But their connection is good.
Our only main concern was the wagon and the linen hygiene. This was a real bummer for us. Apart from that the resort is very nice and there are 3 swimming pools (including a lazy river) and 2 slides. Mind you that in France, men and boys are not allowed to swim in shorts and have to buy a speedo or Lycra swimming trunk. There is a shop in the property, but we bought from Leclerc hypermarket for half price, there is one 5 minutes away.
They also have a salon and a spa, as well as billiard room, tennis courts and mini golf. The beach is 5 minutes away by car and they have free bus shuttle twice a day. We recommend you bring special shoes to walk on stoney beaches.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for the detailed recommendation, it is very helpful. In this case we might have to look for a place right at the beach with open free wifi. I can imagine you could not get the chance to work lol! We also didn’t know about the swimming truck. Very helpful tips indeed. Thank you so much!
I wouldn’t recommend that place at all. We stayed there once and never again. Definitely not a 5 star camping resort. I would recommend airbnb honestly when you can directly communicate and agree on what to expect, get a refund if necessary.
