There was a phase in my life when I used to meet up with friends and family on daily basis for dinner or for drinks, in a restaurant or at home. The buzz of good vibes, good company and good food always made me happy.
Then came the pandemic. I was locked up at home – luckily with my family – in three different countries around the globe, we enjoyed dancing and singing while cooking our favorite meals every day and really made beautiful memories out of it. After the pandemic, we slowly started gaining trust in dining outside and were seriously looking forward to being pampered in restaurants, again.
I cannot express how disappointing most of our experiences have been since, and mainly in restaurants that provide both services, dine-in and delivery, under the same roof.
For some reason, it feels like your waiter won’t look at you though he stands a few steps away from your table. Your waiting time can easily go beyond 30 minutes before someone notices you exist or before you personally walk towards the counter or the waiter to ask for the menu. Of course, I won’t start talking about the wrong orders, the missing orders or the delayed orders here. I got so frustrated that I had to do some research about this topic, and I found shocking facts. Statistics show that a lot of people still adopt the delivery service even after the pandemic, for several reasons, which led to more delivery vehicles on the roads, higher competition between restaurants for app rating leading to eventually less focus on dine-in customers.
Have you ever experienced a disappointing dining experience in your favorite local restaurant? Do you still consider giving it a second chance or will you switch to home delivery instead?

Hi, am new here. I can tell endless stories about our dining-in experiences since the end of the pandemic. But I think it is a good excuse to start cooking at home instead or only dine in restaurants that provide only dine-in experience. Problem resolved!
We also stopped dining in such restaurants. I go out to enjoy myself and relax and not to stress and waste time. Dining with friends at home is a much better experience and more fun and casual.
Agree. In the country where I currently live the weather is nice most of the year and dining outside with friends and family is a wonderful green experience! 🎄🌸☀
Lucky you! Not where we live! 🌨 ☔ ❄
I don’t mind waiting honestly. I take my laptop with me and do some work anyway while waiting for my order. But I think this suits me because I have flexible working hours and can work from anywhere. I won’t give up easily on my favorite Big-Mac✌
But of course, if you have 10 minutes to grab something on your lunch break or on your way to work then it’s a problem. It is not the case anymore, orders tend to take longer time.
