Bello everyone,

Have you noticed that while most brands are constantly updating their packaging, look, and the shape of their products, some brands stick with the same design, feel, and functionality?
The first brand that always comes to mind for me is Bic. I love this brand. I’ve been thinking about sharing this for a few days now. Bic has had the same classic pen for as long as I can remember, even since I was a kid.

Any idea why some brands do that?

Classic products. Love that. It makes me feel as if time is not passing by. I think some brands respect when their customers love a successful product, and so they understand the risk of losing those loyal customers if they add changes to these products.

Very good point. Many brands have changed/upgraded/enhanced their successful products packaging, size etc.. or even discontinued them, which I personally find very frustrating. Classic is nice, classic is safe. In my view it builds loyalty and stability.

Because simply why would you change anything if your product is very successful and doing a great job selling?! Doesn’t make sense.

Maybe they simply don’t want to spend on marketing and design!

It always frustrates me when brands change my favorite products packaging, and I waste hours searching for my product in supermarkets. My wife asked me for her usual hair curling lotion last month, I checked in 5 different supermarkets and pharmacies and couldn’t find it. In the 6th shop I asked the salesman, and he said the manufacturer changed the packaging!
Imagine yourself asking the salesman about all the products on your shopping list!🙄

I would understand if the change or the upgrade is to optimize the product usage and add asset to the product or make the usage easier or more practical for the consumer. Apart from that I don’t see any benefit from it. I totally support classic.
