Cerveza Corona is more than one of the world`s most famous beers and the number one imported beer in the US. It’s a state of mind. It’s lounging on a secluded, sunny Mexican beach enjoying a nice cold one under a palm tree, disconnected from the world`s worries. It’s an oasis of freshness in a fast-paced world.
This Mexican icon was born in 1926, created by German settlers in Mexico and quickly became the country’s beer of choice. One of the reasons was its iconic translucent bottle which allowed the beer to be seen in all of its refreshing beauty and color. Add the Virgen de Guadalupe crown on top and voila: an icon was born.
Now this Belgian-owned (AB InBev), German inspired, but uniquely Mexican beer can be found pretty much anywhere in the world. making it one of the most recognized and ubiquitous brands around. Besides, let’s admit it: a michelada without a Corona is just not a michelada!
And while many say it may not be the highest quality or strongest flavored beer, there’s no denying this pale lager has become associated in our minds with a slower-paced life, lived next to nature, and a brand we associate with Mexico in the same way we associate Guinness with Ireland
After such a long tradition, when it comes time to quenching our thirst on a hot summer day or spending a fun night out with our friends, we know Corona will always be there.
And if it’s good enough for Dominic Toretto from “The Fast and the Furious”, it should also be good enough for you. Even if you don’t happen to be riding a car through an exploding building or sleeping in a hammock on a Mexican beach. The most important thing is: don`t forget the lime on top!
