High-end German TV and audio brand Loewe (German for Lion) has announced a new line of speakers that are designed to offer multiroom functionality. The Loewe Klang MR1 family features three different-sized wireless speakers, which are all able to connect to a variety of devices thanks to DTS Play-Fi and Apple AirPlay 2 compatibility.

The S3 model is another smart wireless speaker from the family that offers a CD player and can be controlled via an included remote or through the Loewe radio app. It can be used to stream music directly from your own collection, as well as offer a large display that’s easy to read.
The s1 and s3 multiroom speakers are both now available in Harrods and Selfridges, starting at PS399 for the klang s1 and PS599 for the klang s3. They can be controlled via an included remote or through their own Loewe Radio app, and come with the ability to install streaming services and create playlists on demand.

All the MR1 models are equipped with WDAL 2.0 to act as low-latency wireless satellite speakers to expand the sound stage of your audio system. They are also compatible with the intelligent multichannel system from Loewe Technology GmbH, which is said to be able to perfectly complement your TV set and soundbar.


The smallest model in the series, the MR1, is a 30-watt wireless speaker that’s ideal for use with Loewe’s October-released klang bar 5 soundbars. Its integrated wall mount and compact design make it the perfect rear speaker for a home cinema setup.


Next up in the lineup is the MR3 ‘bookshelf’ speaker which features three full-range drivers, a subwoofer, and two passive radiators to deliver 150W of power. It’s said to have a strong bass and clear treble extension, and is covered in premium acoustic fiber to “fit into a plethora of spaces and home styles”.


Finally, the MR5 model offers a total music output of 180W. It’s loaded with three tweeters, three full-range drivers, and a subwoofer and can be controlled using a touch panel on the top of the unit.


Unlike many other multiroom speakers, all of the MR1 models are made from a single piece of material that has been designed to be durable and easy to clean. This ensures that they’ll stand the test of time, as well as look sleek and stylish.


All the MR1 models come in a slender cone-shaped format, which is covered in premium acoustic fabric to help them blend in with your décor and provide a rich sound experience. The MR1 also features a glass control panel on the top, which makes for an elegant look that’s easy to use.


In addition to the MR1 family, Loewe has also unveiled the s series, which are smart speakers that feature Bluetooth wireless streaming, USB input, internet, FM and DAB/DAB+ radio, Spotify Connect, and access to streaming services such as Deezer and Amazon Music. They can be controlled using an included remote or through the Loewe Radio app, and are available from Harrods and Selfridges.
