The Everest DD67000 is an evolution of JBL’s highly-regarded DD66000 speaker system and features a host of new drivers and refinements to deliver musical accuracy and a distinctively elegant visual appeal. Designed under a program called Project Everest, DD67000 uses the latest technologies and world-class components to create one of the most sophisticated speaker systems available today.
Powered by a separate high-power amplifier, this floorstander is designed for serious audio output. It has been carefully engineered to provide a wide range of sound output to meet your specific needs and will complement most audio/video receivers and amplifiers (including those with power ratings above 500 watts).
The DD67000’s dual 15-in woofers are each fitted with three pure-pulp layers over and under a foam-injected core. The cones are then topped and backed by a textured carbon fiber baffle trim panel to improve heat dissipation.
A 1 pure beryllium compression driver and a 25mm pure-beryllium ultra-high frequency (UHF) driver offer crystal clear sound up to 60kHz. The UHF driver is also fitted with a pure-magnesium phasing plug to improve stiffness and help whisk heat away from the voice coil assembly for better power handling and sound quality.
These drivers are mounted in a Bi-Radial horn made from SonoGlass material that is computer optimized to deliver the best possible sound. This is achieved through a series of precise crossovers, each optimized to the individual drivers.
Crossovers and the woofers work together to produce a coherent, realistic bass response for all music genres. The woofers are then joined by a single midrange driver that is fitted with an advanced composite surround to enhance the mid-range frequencies.
Using this advanced composite surround allows the speaker’s drivers to be placed in a narrower enclosure than conventional designs and thus deliver better, more detailed soundstages. This is particularly beneficial for vocal reproduction and gives the DD67000 more linearity when you crank up the volume.
As a result, the DD67000 delivers a more realistic and articulate sound than most high-end speakers. It offers a wider spectrum of tonal color, which helps make the music appear more natural. It’s also better able to resolve small detail, such as the nuances in tone and texture of instruments.
